Gene D’Agostino - Feasibility Study Chair 

Gene D’Agostino has been a resident of Mount Pleasant for over 7 years. He is a Co-Chair of the Cristo Rey Charleston Feasibility Study. Gene is a parishioner of The Cathedral of St John The Baptist. Gene was blessed to serve on leadership for the Cathedral’s Capital Campaign.

     

 Gene has a devotion to bringing quality education to all members of the Community. He is especially proud to serve as Chair of Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina and is a past board members of Oceanside Collegiate Academy.

Jamiel Kadri - Feasibility Vice President

Jamiel is native of Charleston, graduate of Clemson University, and founder of Fulcrum Staffing. Jamiel began his career in Big 4 public accounting in Charlotte, North Carolina. His client base consisted largely of companies in the commercial industrial sector, which included large publicly traded companies, as well as medium sized manufacturing and retail clients.

 

Jamiel left public accounting to join one of his managers at his start up search firm. For over six years, Jamiel helped grow and establish the practice in the Charlotte market. During that time, he built a reputation for his professionalism, honesty and integrity, which is the foundation under which Fulcrum Staffing continues to operate since Jamiel started the company in January 2008. Mary Nemeth - Director of Donor Relations

Mary is a seasoned fundraiser that has been very fortunate to work on many amazing campaigns. She shares that “it’s been a complete joy to raise money for churches, schools and projects that help make our world a better place. I love to build relationships and connect people to each other. I work hard at doing the next right thing. I enjoy the cause and the vision of the projects I choose. I love my faith and I love to do small things with great love.”

Chris Naughton - Feasibility Coordinator

A Seattle native and graduate of Marist College, Chris relocated to Charleston in 2014. He brings ten years of experience working in the communications industry with a particular focus on sales, strategic business development, and community engagement initiatives. He was instrumental in helping Comcast launch two new departments and build them from the ground up. His work now will borrow from that experience and his talents as he prepares Charleston to be the next home to a Cristo Rey high school.

 

Chris’s deepest passion is lifting up underprivileged youth, adding that his role as Feasibility Coordinator is “not simply a job to me. It is a mission, a purpose, and a calling that I have on my heart.”

Cristo Rey is a network of Catholic, college and career- preparatory schools that exclusively serve low income students through a Corporate Work Study Program. Our unique approach to education allows students to receive a quality education and gain valuable work experience. A feasibility study is currently underway in the Charleston area to explore the opportunity of opening a Cristo Rey school.
